FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Got questions? We’ve got the answers. You can learn all about our squash facility and why we’re one of the fastest growing, progressive clubs in the north-west. We have collected some of the most frequently asked questions that we receive below.

If there's something that we've missed just drop us a message and we'll come back to you as quickly as we can.

DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO PLAY AT THE CLUB?

We operate as a sporting members club, so regular players do need to be members to gain access to the building and also the court booking system. We are pretty confident that once we have showed you round you'll be keen to join!

We also encourage all our members to invite their friends and family down to the club to try squash and racketball out. There's no charge for this, but if they enjoy it and want to play on a regular basis we encourage people to become a member.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PLAY?

Less than you think! Once you have paid your club membership you will be able to access the building 24/7 and also have access to the court booking system. There are no charges to book courts, and all you need to pay for is your court lights - this works out at £4 for 40 minutes of lights.

I'M RETURNING TO SQUASH AFTER NOT PLAYING FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS - CAN THE CLUB HELP ME GET PLAYING AGAIN?

Of course! We welcome all standards of players, from complete beginners through to players who are training at elite level. We are a very welcoming club, and everyone is keen to support and help others progress, especially after COVID.

The best way to return to play is to come down to club night, to meet other members and get involved at the club. We also run "Squash Girls Can" and "Squash 101" sessions for dedicated groups on Sunday afternoons, alongside our junior beginner and Academy programmes on Saturdays.

You can also book a squash lesson with our club coach, Carlton Oldham. Carlton is a Level 2 England Squash coach and is instrumental in coaching a number of players across the north-west. When he's not coaching he's invariably playing 1st Division squash in the NWCSL or Premier squash in the Yorkshire leagues!

HOW DO MY CHILDREN GET INVOLVED IN PLAYING?

Through our junior beginners sessions on a Saturday afternoon, or through some one to one coaching with the club coach! Once they've got the squash bug they will progress into the club's Academy programme and have the opportunity to play for the club in the Cheshire or North West Counties Junior Leagues. They can also practice with their friends after school, at one of the structured "pay and play" sessions.
